William Purpura is the Managing Director of GLT Global and President of Great Lakes Managed Futures Limited. He has traded futures and options for 30 years. After graduating with a degree in business administration and economics he began his career on the Chicago trading floors. He became a member of COMEX in 1981 and was one of the largest brokers and traders of precious metals futures. In 1987 he founded Great Lakes Metals, Inc. and affiliated companies, including GLT Group, LLP, GLT Global, Ltd and Great Lakes Managed Futures Limited. Since 1987 he has been a registered Commodity Trading Advisor and directs a global managed futures fund. Mr. Purpura is a COMEX Governor and has served on a variety of exchange committees. He has consulted for NYMEX, the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, major brokerage firms, and currently consults for CME Group. He is a member of the National Futures Association, director of the National Introducing Brokers Association and is one of eight international advisors to the Shanghai Gold Exchange. Mr. Purpura has lectured and presented extensively to international audiences, particularly in China. |
